Mirabell Palace was built by Prince Archbishop Wolf Dietrich for his Salome Alt in 1606. Father Leopold Mozart and his children Wolfgang and Nannerl made music in it. Today, weddings, conferences and honors take place here regularly. The Marble Hall is also the setting for the atmospheric Mirabell Palace Concerts. The "angel staircase" that leads into the marble hall is adorned with numerous putti.
The Mirabell Gardens at Mirabell Palace in Salzburg were opened to the public in 1854 by Emperor Franz Joseph. Today the entire complex is a listed building and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
